Overall good stay with friendly staff

If you've read other reviews, a common callout would be the size of the room. Yes they are small, but we knew that when we booked. Since we weren't staying at the home all day, the space wasn't a huge concern. Getting an Uber to and from the hotel was fairly easy. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Our first night there, we had a noise issue overnight which we addressed. Unfortunately, it wasn't taken care of because how can we expect the staff to fix something without hearing or seeing the problem. To make up for the issue, they comp our breakfast for the next day - which they didn't have to do, but the gesture was appreciated. Continental breakfast - no complaints there. Typical of any generic breakfast - eggs, yogurt, bread, croissants, coffee, juices, etc. We had zero issue with hearing outside or hallway sounds. The hotel was in walking distance of the main part of town - about 20-25 min walk depending on where you're going. Jumbo and Lidi were close for us to purchase snacks and water.

Great little hotel, location and staff

I had a great two night stay at the ED, this is a brilliant little hotel, in a great location with really nice staff. Firstly, yes the rooms are small. But it's an old building, however the rooms are designed well, a nice big comfortable bed, great ensuite and it's been fitted out to a good standard. The reception and bar area are also really nice, very cool space and comfortable. Additionally a coffee maker, kettle, safe box and a fridge are a bonus I think as not many hotels at this price range in Amsterdam even offer this. I don't normally enjoy self check-in but the system used here was so easy and took just a minute or two to check in and get my room key. My only negative was the Air Conditioning only went down to 19 degrees C, I'd prefer it a bit cooler but thats being super picky. I've stayed in a few hotels in Amsterdam around the price point, similar or same area and this is the best I've visited. I will be back.

Minimalist

We are both 80 and this hotel is not easy. First remember that Uber cannot discharge or pick up in front of the hotel. The entry has 6 or steps. There is no one to help with the bags. Fortunately the person checking us in gave a hand. When we got to our room we were unpleasantly surprised at the little space. We could not fit our luggage in this room. Fortunately we were upgraded to a triple room where we used the 3rd bed to store our luggage. No closets. Breakfast was adequate. One attendant was friendly and the other surly. Eggs and pancakes tastes like they were instant. The breads were very good. But come early, because they do not replenish. Some good cheese although the Brie was not ripe. I was hoping for a traditional Dutch breakfast, but alas, no such luck. The ambiance and art of the hotel was nice. If you are a young g couple traveling with backpacks or USA good choice.
